Pascal George, Chief Executive Officer
Pascal George joined CJBC in July of 2012. His goal is to ensure a steady and safe supply of blood products to regional hospitals by leveraging our community ties and providing excellent customer service. His management philosophy rests on communications and staff empowerment. As our industry is profoundly affected by the changes in Health Care, Pascal is focusing the leadership of CJBC on talent acquisition, innovative thinking and partnership building.
In addition to his blood experience which includes top leadership positions with NY Blood Center, Pascal has significant experience in the Cell Therapy field. He started his career in hospital administration after obtaining an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Gerald Antoine, Donor Services Director
Gerald (Jerry) joined CJBC in March 2015, after spending the last five years with The Blood Center of New Jersey. Prior to that, he worked for fourteen years with The American Red Cross (ARC) in Nashville, Tennessee. Jerry has built a lifelong career in the blood banking industry, while learning and working in many positions. He started out driving and setting up blood mobiles, moved to Scheduling & Logistics, then to IT Process Improvements projects nationwide with ARC, and finally back to Donor Services where it all began, rising to the level of Director. His primary goal at CJBC is to continue to enhance the donation experience for all donors while creating new career opportunities for his staff, and maintaining an excellent regulatory profile in compliance with FDA, AABB, State and industry standards for collection of blood and blood products.
Jerry’s mission in blood banking began with his Mother’s diagnosis of leukemia, and has remained a passion ever since. The need to participate in helping people save lives, sustain life, improve life and continue to give patients hope for tomorrow through blood donation, is a personal quest he lives each day. Every donor counts, every effort to help someone in need is a passion, and he looks forward to being part of the team at CJBC who deliver that to the patients in NJ every day!
Wanda Drevon-Walters, Quality Assurance Director
Wanda, a native of Puerto Rico, joined CJBC in 1997 and has successfully strengthened the organization’s compliance and quality as demonstrated by excellent FDA, AABB and State evaluations. Wanda has been critical in shifting the local blood industry’s focus from one of just achieving compliance to one of sustained excellence and continuous improvement. She is grateful for all the supportive leaders, past and present, that mentored her and promoted a new vision for quality, and for the personnel who embraced it and turned the vision into tangible results. Wanda also participates as a volunteer assessor for the AABB accreditation program.
Outside of CJBC, Wanda supports people seeking healing through a faith-based 12 step program and makes time to enjoy international foods, sci-fi, music and nature with her husband.
Laurett Gannon, Special Events / Fundraising Director
Laurett joined the CJBC Team in 2007 because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of people in the community. She has an extensive background in fundraising and event planning, execution and programming, having worked on Broadway and in conjunction with New York City Mayor’s Office and The White House on various diplomatic, special services and theatrical events including the Tony Awards, various Broadway Openings and Theater Development Fund events.
Since joining CJBC, she has had the privilege of working in both the Donor Relations and Donor Services Departments. As a cancer survivor and recipient of hundreds of units of whole blood and platelet donations more than 13 years ago, she is now thrilled to be part of the Team at CJBC and is devoted to the mission of saving lives through blood donation.
Donna Glassen, Human Resources Director
Donna Glassen first joined CJBC in 1990 as a Data Entry Operator and was named Computer Operations Coordinator a year later. In February, 1996 she transitioned to Payroll Coordinator and was eventually named Human Resources Director in March, 2004. Over the next few years, she established the Human Resources Department and is now responsible for planning, developing and administering HR functions within the company. She strives to build and maintain relationships at all levels based on mutual respect and collaboration.
Donna has an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting from Fisher College, Boston and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Monmouth University. She is also a member of Jersey Shore Association of Human Resources, Society of Human Resources Management and America’s Blood Centers Human Resources group.
Karen Leadbeater, Controller
Karen Leadbeater joined CJBC in 1998. As the Controller at Central Jersey Blood Center she is responsible for the management and oversight of the accounting department including daily operations, monitoring internal controls, and coordinating financial activities with the CFO.
Mrs. Leadbeater has been working at CJBC for 15 years. In her time here she has restructured the Finance Department for optimal workflow. Karen has also implemented new software for general accounting, payroll, purchasing and fixed assets. Mrs. Leadbeater holds a Bachelors of Science degree majoring in Accounting from Georgian Court University.
Paul Ruddy, Business Operations & IT Director
Paul came to Central Jersey Blood Center five years ago with a passion to save lives and to rebuild the Information Technology department from the ground up. In his time here, he has developed a diverse skill set that includes direct experience in project management, database administration, programming, system administration, consulting and networking. He was responsible for bringing all functional areas related to information technology in-house and has planned / developed systems which improve structure and cut costs within business operation processes.
Paul is currently enrolled in the prestigious Montclair MBA program where he intends to apply his knowledge gained in the classroom towards continued operational improvements at CJBC. When he’s not hard at work developing technology to save lives, he can usually be found on a fishing boat or spending time with his wife.
As Head of the Mobile Recruitment Department at Central Jersey Blood Center, Michael is dedicated to building strong bonds in the local community while growing our mobile blood drive initiative. He oversees all blood drives at high schools, colleges, hospitals, corporations and community groups. His focus is always to provide the highest level of customer service to all of our partners, clients and donors.
Michael started in the blood banking industry in 2005 as an Account Manager with NY Blood Center. Under his direction, collections in Staten Island grew quickly and he moved up to Business Development manager in 2008. In addition to overseeing the mobile collections in Brooklyn and Staten Island, Michael specialized in outreach to High Schools and Colleges. Michael prides himself on working closely with the collection staff and blood drive chair people. As a blood donor recipient himself, Michael knows firsthand that the greatest gift one can give is the gift of life!
