Donor Deferral Guidelines
*Eligibility regarding tattoos: Acceptable if done in the State of New Jersey ONLY and if tattoo was applied using single use needle and single use ink. One year deferral for tattoos applied out of state.

You are not eligible to donate:

| Antibiotics (acceptable for acne)... | 24 hours after last dose |
| Blood transfusion... | 1 year |
| Accutane, Proscar, Propecia... | 1 month after last dose |
| Avodart... | 6 months after last dose |
| Pregnancy, miscarriage... | 6 weeks after delivery/miscarriage |
| Lyme Disease... | 1 year after last treatment |
| Sexually transmitted disease... | 1 year after diagnosis and treatment |
| Cancer (Basal Cell acceptable)... | 5 years |
Permanent Reason:
Member of any high-risk group for AIDS
Hepatitis (past or present)
Tegison for Psoriasis
IV user of illegal drugs, even once
Travel to the U.K. from 1980 through 1996 with 3+ months of accumulated time (1980-1996)
Travel to Europe with 5+ years of accumulated time (1980-Present)
Current or former military personnel (including civilians) and their dependents, who resided for 6+ months at military bases in Germany, U.K., Belgium and The Netherlands (1980-1990), or resided for 6+ months at military bases in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and Italy (1980-1996)

| Age: | 17 years and over |
| Weight: | Minimum 120 pounds |
| Donation Intervals: | 8 weeks (56 days) between donations, 2 unit red cells (16 weeks/112 days) |
| Medications: | Aspirin, vitamins, birth control pills, blood pressure and cholesterol medications are all acceptable. Other medications will be evaluated at medical screening at the time of donation. |
