Celebrating 50 Years of the Central Jersey Blood Center
2015 marks our 50th Anniversary of saving lives by providing safe, high quality blood products and services to patients in need. Opening our doors on May 31, 1965 – Central Jersey Blood Center aimed to provide a much needed blood supply to three area hospitals.
Working solo and without pay to begin with, CJBC’s first employee, Shirley Temme helped build a strong foundation that proved to be instrumental in the Center’s growth over three decades.
Today, Central Jersey Blood Center is the heart, soul and lifeblood of the Central Jersey community. Our new 50th Anniversary logo is forged from the heart and spirit of the people who live, work and play in Central New Jersey. It signifies that blood donation is a gift from the heart, with the lifeline representing the connection between the donor and the beating heart of the person whose life they are saving. It serves as a potent reminder to all the CJBC staff of the importance of our lifesaving work. Together, we all embody the heart and spirit of the Central New Jersey community.
